We have arrived at the planet that was to become the Da Vinci Colony planet with the intent to change it, to transform, terraform it, to make it fit us humans and our needs.
Our efforts sofar based on brute strength and massive machinery have failed. The forces of Nature proved stronger than those of man and man was nearly destroyed by the forces of this planet.
The Evolution Ring seeks a new way, that of adapting, changing, co-evolving. Instead of forcing ourselves violently upon this eco-system, like a foreign object penetrating a body, Evolution seeks to explore, to study, to understand this planet, to learn from it, to find a way to co-exist within its eco-system, to share the wealth of this planet, not as conquerors from a foreign star, but as partners, as living beings finding a symbiosis.
We seek to find solutions to the daily, short-term and long-term problems of our people on Da Vinci, not by forcibly making Da Vinci a second Earth, but by subtly changing Man into DaVincians.
Membership

Ring Evolution imposes few, if any, obligations on its members. We are a union of thinkers and tinkerers. Our values are based on liberty, individuality and freedom. We strive to expand our knowledge, research the impossible, explore the possible. We seek to enlighten not only our minds, but also to expand our horizons, inwards as well as outwards. Every member of Evolution has the full freedom to act as she/he sees fit as long as her/his actions do not sully the reputation and/or values of Ring Evolution. Our policies are to be seen as guide lines. We do not force our members into action or inaction, instead relying on our common sense, empathy with our fellow DaVincians and practicality.
You are as likely to find a member of Ring Evolution researching obscure quantum physics as you might find her repeating centuries old Earth jokes. You will find us sitting in groups discussing the future of the Tower and of DaVinci as often as you will find us listening to a recital of antique poetry.
Policies
Tower Repair
The top section of the Tower is destroyed, broken off in a massive storm. Evolution will support efforts to repair it. A broken tool serves no-one.
Terraformation
We are not opposed to terraformation. We will however oppose an immediate, blind, unthinking restart of that process. Our knowledge about DaVinci is yet too limited for any hasty changes. We have too few data points yet about the planet, the environment, the fauna, flora, microbiology. We need more knowledge. Our primary focus should be on the accumulation of as many data points as possible and then seek the most versatile strategy from those data. If that strategy is terraformation and we can make that decision based on a wide knowledge base, Evolution will support it.
Space Station
The space station was left in orbit as tool for us to use. A tool to gain knowledge, understanding, insight. From its viewpoint above the planet we will be able to research DaVinci to a far greater degree than from the Tower. Evolution will support efforts to reach the space station to complete our knowledge of our new home.
